Per-credit tools charge every time you peek at a number, often $0.02 to $0.06 per lookup before you even know the line is a mobile. Ichnaea's flat subscription covers the whole hunt; you're billed monthly, not per query.
The number's prefix is checked against the carrier's own thousand-block record and it comes back on a wireless block. Every number is labeled YES, NO (landline, VoIP, toll-free) or UNCHECKED (no block record to read); the verified-mobiles export holds only YES, and the monthly meter counts only YES. Numbers get ported between carriers after a block is assigned, so a YES is a carrier-record match rather than a live network check.
