Ichnaea Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 2, 2026
Ichnaea is a general partnership between Mateo Skinner and Nekter AI LLC, a Nevada limited liability company ("Ichnaea," "we," "us"). This policy explains what information we handle and what we do with it.
We handle information about two groups of people:
- Our customers: the businesses and people who sign up for and use Ichnaea.
- Businesses in our results: the local businesses whose public listings appear when our customers search.
If your business appears in our results and you want it removed or corrected, go to Section 3.
1. Information about our customers
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, your company or workspace name, your time zone, and a hashed version of your password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address from Google.
- Billing details: Stripe processes all payments. We never see or store your full card number. From Stripe we receive your plan, whether payments succeeded, and the identifiers we need to match your subscription to your account.
- How you use Ichnaea: the searches you run (trade, location, and filters), the Results we deliver to you, your exports, and your usage against your plan's allowance.
- Proxy details, if you give us your own: stored encrypted and used only to run your searches.
- Referral details: if you joined through another customer's invite link, we record that, and track any referral rewards.
- Click-to-call details (off during the beta): if we turn it on later, we will store the phone number you want calls to ring and basic records of each call (time, status, length, cost).
- Technical and security logs: such as IP address, browser type, pages requested, and errors, which our servers record to keep Ichnaea secure and working.
- Messages you send us: support emails and feedback.
Cookies
We use only the cookies Ichnaea needs to work:
| Cookie | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
| Session | Keeps you signed in | 14 days |
| Security (CSRF) | Protects your forms from forgery | 14 days |
| Google sign-in | Protects the Google sign-in step | 10 minutes |
| Referral | Remembers the invite link you arrived through | 30 days |
We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics cookies, and nothing on our site tracks you across other websites. If that changes, we will update this policy first.
How we use it
- To run your account, deliver your searches and Results, and enforce your plan's allowance.
- To bill you and handle refunds.
- To keep Ichnaea secure, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service and Acceptable Use and Compliance Policy.
- To answer your questions and send you service messages (such as billing notices or changes to our terms).
- To understand, in aggregate, how Ichnaea is used so we can improve it.
We do not sell or rent our customers' account information.
2. Information about businesses in our results
What we collect and where it comes from
When a customer runs a search, our software collects publicly available information about local businesses:
- From Google Maps listings: business name, phone number, address, website, rating, review count, business categories, and map location.
- From a carrier lookup provider (Telnyx): the phone number's line type (such as mobile, landline, or VoIP) and carrier name, as of the date checked.
- From other public sources, on some plans: the owner's name and title, from state license registries, the Better Business Bureau, and the business's own website.
- Email addresses, when a customer turns this option on: addresses published on the business's website or listing.
- Planned: a flag showing whether we found active Meta ads for the business as of a given date.
Some of this can identify an individual, for example when a sole proprietor lists their own name and cell phone. We treat it with that in mind.
How we use and share it
- We show it to the customer who ran the search. Providing this business information to our subscribers is the service we sell. The same public business can appear in many customers' results.
- We reuse lookups. To avoid paying for the same check twice, we keep line-type and owner-name results and may reuse them for later searches, including other customers' searches. We treat line-type results as out of date after 180 days (our current setting).
- We do not use it for anything else. We do not use it for credit, employment, insurance, housing, or background checks, and our customers are not allowed to either.
Some state privacy laws may treat providing this information to our customers as a "sale" of personal information when it identifies an individual. You can stop this at any time by asking us to remove your information (Section 3).
3. If your business appears in our results
You can ask us to remove your business or phone number from our data, or to correct information that is wrong.
How to ask. Email labington1022@gmail.com with:
- the business name,
- the phone number or numbers,
- the address or city, and
- whether you want removal or a correction (and, for a correction, what is wrong).
What we need from you. For removal, we do not ask for ID. We may ask a simple question to make sure we have the right record. For a correction, we may ask for reasonable proof that you are connected to the business, because we do not want someone else changing your details.
What we do. We will confirm we received your request within 5 business days, and complete it within 15 business days. When we remove a record, we remove it across our whole dataset, not just from one customer's account:
- We delete it from the results of every customer account in our system.
- We delete the saved lookup and owner-name results for that number.
- We add the phone number to a do-not-include list, so future searches will not return it again.
- We tell customers who already received it that it was removed, and our terms require them to stop using it for outreach and delete it.
To keep you out of future results, we keep the minimum needed on that do-not-include list (the phone number and business name) for as long as we operate.
What we cannot do. We cannot pull back copies that customers already exported to their own systems, although our terms require them to delete removed records when we tell them. Removing your information from Ichnaea also does not remove it from Google Maps, the Better Business Bureau, or state registries. To change it there, contact those sources directly.
If you were contacted by one of our customers. Our customers, not Ichnaea, make every call, text, and email. To stop that customer's messages, tell them directly (for example, reply STOP). To keep your number out of Ichnaea entirely, email us as described above.
4. Who we share information with
We use a small set of service providers. They may use information only to provide their services to us.
| Provider | What they do | What they receive |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Payments and subscriptions | Customer billing details |
| Telnyx | Phone line-type lookups (and, if turned on later, click-to-call) | Business phone numbers (and, for click-to-call, the customer's phone number and the called number) |
| DigitalOcean | Servers, database, and backups | Everything stored in Ichnaea |
| Residential proxy providers | Route our requests to public websites | The public web pages we request, which can reflect search terms such as trade and city |
| Optional "Sign in with Google" | The sign-in request for customers who choose it |
We may also share information:
- when the law requires it, such as a valid subpoena or court order;
- to protect Ichnaea, our customers, or others from fraud, abuse, or harm, including responding to complaints about a customer's outreach; and
- as part of a merger, sale, or reorganization of Ichnaea, in which case this policy continues to apply to the information.
If you book a call with us through a scheduling link, the scheduling provider's own privacy policy applies to that booking.
5. How long we keep information
| Information | How long |
|---|---|
| Customer account details | While your account is open, then deleted within 90 days after it closes |
| Your Results and search history | While your account is open, then deleted within 90 days after it closes |
| Billing records | 7 years, for tax and accounting (Stripe keeps its own records too) |
| Saved line-type and owner-name lookups | Reused for up to 180 days; deleted after 12 months |
| Server and security logs | 30 days |
| Database backups | 30 days, then overwritten |
| Removal requests and the do-not-include list | For as long as we operate, so removals stick |
Deleted information may remain in backups until those backups are overwritten.
6. How we protect information
- Connections to Ichnaea are encrypted (HTTPS).
- Passwords are stored only as secure hashes, never in plain text.
- Sign-in cookies are signed and cannot be read by page scripts.
- Proxy credentials you give us are stored encrypted.
- Repeated failed sign-in attempts are blocked for a period of time.
- Only the people who run Ichnaea can access its systems.
- We take regular backups.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.
7. Your privacy rights
Whether a particular state privacy law (such as the California Consumer Privacy Act) applies to Ichnaea depends on things like our revenue and how much data we handle. Rather than make you work that out, we offer these choices to everyone, wherever you live:
- Know and access: ask what information we have about you and get a copy.
- Delete: ask us to delete your information. For businesses in our results, this is the removal process in Section 3.
- Correct: ask us to fix information that is wrong.
- Opt out: ask us to stop providing your information to our customers. This is also the removal process in Section 3.
- No penalty: we will not treat you differently for using these choices.
Email labington1022@gmail.com to make a request. You can also have an authorized agent ask for you; we may ask the agent for proof that you gave permission. We will respond within 45 days. If we cannot do what you asked, we will tell you why.
8. Other things you should know
- Businesses only. Ichnaea is for business use and not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
- United States. Ichnaea is operated in and stores information in the United States (New York).
- Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. We do not use cookies that track you across other websites, so these browser signals have nothing to switch off on our site today.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change is material, we will tell customers by email or in the app before it takes effect.
